APPLICATION OF ASSERTIVE TRAINING ON PSYCHOLOGICAL WELL-BEING IN ADOLESCENTS

Abstract

Padang City is a disaster-prone area so that cases of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) have increased. Adolescents are one of the most vulnerable to PTSD because adolescence is a turbulent and unstable transition period with various physical, physiological, cognitive, emotional, behavioral, social changes. Adolescents who are in disaster-prone areas show low Psychological Well Being and will have an impact on mental health. The purpose of this activity is to train adolescent behavior through Assertive Training (AT) in order to create a generation of teenagers who are mentally healthy. The implementation of this activity used as lecture and discussion method in group. The targets in this activity are teenagers who have low psychological well being. The activity is carried out in three stages, namely preparation, implementation and evaluation. The results obtained are an increase in the average psychological well being after being given assertive training which is seen through the results of the questionnaire which is 9.25 and the pre-test before being given assertive training is 5.19. It is hoped that this activity will improve assertive attitudes and behavior as well as psychological well-being in adolescents.
