Cervical Cancer Prevention Education through HPV Vaccine

Abstract

Cervical cancer is a gynecological disease that has a fairly high level of malignancy and is the leading cause of death from cancer. The human papilloma virus is the main risk factor for cervical cancer. Giving HPV vaccine to adolescents is one of the most effective ways to reduce the increase in cervical cancer cases. So intensive education is needed for adolescent girls. The purpose of this community service activity is to increase the knowledge of adolescent girls about the prevention of Cervical Cancer through the HPV Vaccine. The method of implementing this community service is to provide health education through lectures and questions and answers. This community service was carried out on July 22, 2024 at SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Palembang. The participants in this community service activity were 13 students of SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Palembang in class XII. The results of the pre-test assessment evaluation obtained an average score of 65 and an average post-test score of 90, there was an increase in the average score of participants, so there was an increase in knowledge and understanding of cervical cancer prevention through the HPV vaccine.
